Are Most Bingo Players Millenials?
It's the Millennials' world, and we're just living in it.
Long gone are the days of smoke-filled bingo halls with an almost exclusively gray-headed crowd sharing stories over Lay's potato chips and Coca-Cola Classic. To be sure, as with many other time-tested leisure pursuits, the bingo economy is becoming much more diverse – and younger – according to new roports.
Milwaukee’s Potawatomi Hotel & Casino recent survey claims 59% of bingo players are Millennials. Then comes Gen X (21%) and Gen Z (14%), with Baby Boomers dead last at 6%.
Can you believe that the oldest Millennials are now 43 – FORTY THREE? But, they also own the distinction of being the first generation to grow up in the digital space. As the thrill of chatting with friendly strangers and winning cash in bingo moves more and more toward online bingo, it makes sense then that the player base is becoming younger.
After all, Millennials just can't seem to get away from their smartphones, and online bingo is seeing more varients you can play on-the-go than ever before.
Whether or not it's completely accurate that Millenials make up the majority of bingo players is up for debate, but there are some factors that make it not unreasonable.
